What started out as a selection of images I had taken of my ex-assistant and friend Hannah without the intention of exhibiting them, turned into an extensive archive of private snapshots, street style photos, editorial stories and work especially commissioned for the project over the years.
For the 15th anniversary exhibition, 15 artists and writers shared their take on the long term portrait with work based on the Hannah Logic archives. Thoughts on the power of editing someone's life, the obsessive nature of taking a friend's picture for (hopefully) 50 years and the changing dynamics of an artist-muse relationship were explored in “The Essential Hannah Logic Reader”, a collection of articles and interviews about the project that have been published in the last 5 years.
